Is this legal under the sullivan law???
There has to be other sons, not just the one he is going to serve with. -
That's not true. It is legal. We had several father/son pairs and even one father/daughter deployed pair in Iraq last year.
-
I have even seen a wife/husband deploy.
-
I wasnt suggesting it wasnt true,I just thought there must be another son for it to be legal.
Found out I was wrong about that even, didnt have alot of time, but I did do a fast search on the "Sullivan Act".

No offense intended, when i saw this post, the Sullivan act was the first thing to pop into my head. -
my wife and i have deployed together.....and i know a couple groups of brothers/sisters deploying together, alot of married couples too....
its kinda common in the guard and reserve side......but im sure it happens on active every once in a while too....
in the guard and reserve you are kind of limited to what units are around to serve in, alot of the times they serve together, and while technicaly (on the reserve side) a husband/wife could opt out of going with the other, but they will get mobbed as soon as the other returns.......easier just to go together most of the time -
I see the husband/wife combo in active units more than anything else. sons and daughters more with the guard unit I was deployed with last year.
