What is so hard about this one...as soon as you enter the first digit of the date...technically you should be signing your log...as it clearly states:Kabar said: ↑Once you sign it it is a legal document. When you sign it you are saying that EVERY THING on it is true and accurate. DO NOT SIGN IT TILL THE END OF THE DAY!!! Until then it is just a piece of paper and you can make correction to it. You can even tear it out and start over again. Once you sign it you are stuck with what ever it says. Note that it does not say when you have to sign it. Just that you do.
§395.8 Drivers record of duty status(f)(7) Signature/certification. The driver shall certify to the correctness of all entries by signing the form containing the drivers duty status record with his/her legal name or name of record. The drivers signature certifies that all entries required by this section made by the driver are true and correctClick to expand...
The drivers signature certifies that all entries required by this section made by the driver are true and correct
All entries...one digit or the whole page complete for the day...ALL ENTRIES ARE TRUE AND CORRECT!
This is not a legal contract, a mortgage, or a loan application...it is a daily log...ALL ENTRIES ARE TRUE AND CORRECT!
What on earth makes this so confusing to every driver out on the highways?

Thank-you.dieselbear said: ↑What is in that log book should only come from you, as no one else is allowed to write in the log book. Enforcement action is taken and will still be taken whether or not it has a signature.Click to expand...

Absolutly correct!
Yeah....But, Supertruckerdude is the expert and everyone else is just lucky to have him here to assist in the comprehension of the complicated legal web of lies and deciet...I've seen and heard so many of these geniuses at truckstops and on the CB over the years telling unsuspecting newbies this nonsense that I just cringe whenever I hear ths garbage!otherhalftw said: ↑Finally one sees the light!Click to expand...
His comprehension of the written statutes is limited and deeply flawed but his knowledge is to exstensive to accept that fact.
Dieselbear is apparently just an uneducated rube with no working knowledge of DOT statutes!
Shame on you you lyin' copper...We all know what you're up to...
Top O' the world Ma....!outerspacehillbilly and otherhalftw Thank this. -
I have argued the point before where it says by signing you certify that all entries are true and correct,,If its not complete or your day is not over yet, how do you know if its true and correct?! I have tried it before where during having my log checked it not be signed and said this they just said sign it,so I thought i better..Prel said: ↑FMCSR answers that specific question in the big book. For your log book to be current it has to have a legibale signature.Click to expand...

Hey freedom first. Maybe you should apply with CR England, with your vast knowledge of the regulations they'd probably make you safety director.

How do you know if it's true and correct? Simple log it as you do it, and do it legal!
