I agree l. The problem is that we are fighting our own government as they are in cahoots with the megas and their lobbyist to keep the trucker down, especially the traditional independent. Everything is on sale in America, has been that way since the 70's and taking the dollar off the gold standard- that was the first wave of intense inflation.
Well, its on now....

We came so close when Oroville Dam almost failed.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

You call that a president? Lol......I said in another thread....you want to see a change? Ban navigation systems. That'll expose one of the largest weaknesses in the industry. This law does nothing to clean up the industry other than satisfy his prejudiced fan base. Navigation systems are what protects bad drivers and that'll thin the herd, American or foreign.Numb Thanks this.

I like how Donnie Don stirs the pot and gets everybody rilled up!!
You know GPS can't even save some of these guys, they still mess it up. You've got to at least have some common sense to use GPS. -
When I heard about this rule taking effect, I had this mental image of every scale house being packed to the gills with abandoned white Volvos and crowds of drivers wearing flip flops, track pants, turbins, etc., standing on the side of the highway waiting for an uber back to Chicago, and a bunch of exhausted DOT officers buried in a sea of paperwork ready to rip their hair out. LOL
Just read an article from Yahoo Finance (and they're always right!
) that said an estimated 10% of drivers will be affected by this rule. Honestly, I thought that number would be a bit higher, but that kinda depends on where they draw the line between "English proficiency" and "ok, he seems like he understands English but his accent is so thick I can't understand what the hell he's saying."
It will be interesting to see where this goes. -
I personally think the number is much lower than 10%.
Trust me, sometimes I think it’s 95% when I’m in a truck stop and everyone is yammering in a language other than English. Fact is most of them know enough English but choose to speak their native tongue when they can.
Not like English is an easy language to learn like Spanish is. I speak Spanish also but don’t like to because I feel strange doing so.bryan21384 and Kyle G. Thank this. -
I’m gonna guess that this won’t be needed anymore. This is at the Dollar General DC in Jonesville South Carolina… Instructions for drivers in Russian, Mandarin Arabic, and Spanish -
Does that mean no more Mexican drivers delivering past the border if they don't speak English?
-
Not without a change to NADTA 2.0.JC1971 Thanks this.

Secretary, Duffy mentioned on the broadcast that I had posted on another thread that cabotage laws are gonna be looked at and enforced… So I would assume that many of them won’t be going at least legally past the border trade zoneJC1971 Thanks this.
