Talk to your dealer - it has to be done close to the end of the 5 yr extended warranty.
I don’t know the cost but have been told it can be done.JolliRoger, 1951 ford, singlescrewshaker and 7 others Thank this. -
I wanted to get a new one last year, but I didn’t like the trade offers. Truck prices were more reasonable, but still high. At least I thought. I think 250-275 was the range between all manufacturers. My dad is in bad health since thanksgiving. It a lot of extra work that cuts into my paying work. So I’m glad I didn’t pull the trigger.Friend, IH Truck Guy, tramm01 and 12 others Thank this.

my new one came in at 255 with all the warranty and fet but it is only a 3 axle
I need to change in set up to max the capacity on my new trailer or likely I would go the extra 2 years1951 ford, blairandgretchen, singlescrewshaker and 7 others Thank this. -
I like to think what truly matters is what’s in the heart.
It’s possible for someone to be born and raised city but their heart is country. My father is like that. He grew up in a neighborhood that used to be where the stadiums in Baltimore are now, but somehow he knows a lot about things country that today’s city slicker would never know. I picked up a bit of that from him.
I’m with @AModelCat in what he wants, but that would be a substantial move at the moment and I don’t want to venture too far from my parents since they’re elderly.IH Truck Guy, JolliRoger, blairandgretchen and 11 others Thank this. -
I look through that area several times a week. I doubt you'd find anything along the way worthwhile. 1.80-1.90 maybe headed west.
If you knew someone to buy a load of alfalfa from, you might could call some farm supply places and sell a load.
Or call the milk replacer place in Glenns Ferry and see if they've got a load headed west. Easy loads there and pretty good peopleLast edited: Jun 28, 2025

Were actually buying them from an outfit in SLC. He would deliver them for 3K more than we are paying. He has to charge us sales tax for the state that we receive them in; it would have only cost a few bucks more to have them delivered here than to go to SLC to pick them up due to the different sales tax rate, but going to his outfit in Chehalis is less.
It's one of those deals - you get a quote for bidding purposes and it is kind of underhanded to shop that price after getting the bid. Tariffs didn't help the situation, but the increase wasn't that bad. I honestly never thought to look around Lewiston - live and learn.jamespmack, tramm01, 1951 ford and 11 others Thank this. -
A lot of hay is contracted already, but I could certainly find a load to buy. First cutting is up now.
Glenns Ferry is on the way - I might give them a try. Thanks!jamespmack, tramm01, 1951 ford and 10 others Thank this.
