I'm going to attempt to get my own registration. I was told by the lady, that I had to have the total mileages from each state that I ran from July 08 to July of 09?

That's gonna take a long time to figure that all out.

Is the information they gave me correct. I'm new to the registration part of this. The company I was registered to last, registered in their name, and I re-imbursed them out of my settlements. But the company I'm with now, want me to register it....

I don't really know where to start. I did get my DOT number.

Not sure what registration your refering to...??? If you mean that your going to get your own plates then there is an estimated milage chart that you use for the first application. Simply pu the estimated milage in the columns and put an E for estimated. They should have been able to explain that.

Yes, that's what they are talking about. But, I didn't think I would have to go back and refigure all those miles on all those trip reports.... Looks like I have my work cut out for me.

You can estimate the first time, I would ask someone in the office fora good estimate of what the other O/O's are doing. After that, if your company handles the fuel tax, they will be able to supply you with the actual miles you ran.

Ok, Thanks. I still have all my trips sheets. Me and my girlfriends are going to take turns going through them...

One more question. I don't want to add alot of states, because I only run from Texas to NJ. Sometimes over to Missouri. Is that going to be cheaper?

  8. I believe most states have a schedule for the estimated mileage for the first IRP filing. That's what happened when I did it the first time.

The cost for running less states depends on the states you run, I believe. I am currently only tagged in five states and it costs me about a grand. When I tagged for all 48, it was a little less than $1,700 if I remember right.

Just make sure you get all the stAtes you need. I have a buddy that runs the same loads I do most of the time, so he tagged 5 states too. He missed out on a load he wanted to run on a Sunday. It wasn't a real big deal, because we had plenty of stuff to do, but if he had really needed that load, it could've been a problem for him.

Thanks for all your help fellow truckers. Mission completed.

Funny thing about this, I had to give them the DOT and FEIN number of the company that I'm leased to along with mine. They said something about who carries the insurance. Even though I pay for the insurance, it's till in the companies name and account.
