I had a spring ride trailer for a few months when I first started. I remember not loving the ride compared to my Great Dane I bought after.

My 'nice' Great Dane I've run for 8 years is aged out and worn out. What are the disadavantages of a spring ride trailer for general freight?

I bid my own freight and generally haul light but occasionally haul to scale on short runs now and then.

Anything I am I going to hate? This is a possible long term rental, NOT a buy. I don't think I would buy a spring ride.

Nothing wrong with spring ride. Heavier rides better. Empty and light bounces around but I hardly notice a difference in the overall ride to be honest.

I drove LTL linehaul for over a decade, that employer at the time had a mix of trailers; spring ride/air ride, swing doors/roll up, with the exception of -20 degree winter weather and a light or empty trailer, there was not much difference.

I'm taking delivery next week of a 2017 Wabash spring ride. Month to month rental. We'll see how it goes. Trailer looks really clean.

I remember one load, the shipper sent someone out to ensure the trailer is air ride. It was not, so they wouldn't load it. It was a load of computers.

    One advantage is simplicity.

$350 and they are clean. Cheaper than I've seen anywhere. I've read the contract, no surprises. $1k refundable security deposit, small cleaning fee, typical charges for brake/tire wear.
