Where I work (I know it's not cryo currently but whatever). We're required to fill out a dvir for every pti. They say it's some fmcsa thing or something. For every trailer you attach to. Can even upload pictures through it. I can tell they pay attention to it. Because currently my driver's side mirror has a hairline crack in the middle of it. I put it in the dvir just to show I made a note of it. But unless look for it can't see it. So I told the shop guys multiple times since can still see fine no use changing it.

I read some years ago that cryo pays the best in the trucking industry... compared to dry van, reefer, flat bed, car hauler... what else? Oversize? Livestock? Is that really true? Would like to know because this is what I tell folks that are entering this industry and want to make good money. :)

I believe it to be true.
I'm sure other niche segments pay well but all in all, over my career, nothing comes close when factoring everything in.

Well that's a first. Driving through Quebec and I see a Air Liquide or whatever truck with no placards. Not even any UN number

I honestly thought at first the placard on the back worn off. Then I saw the same thing on the side.

20250713_121921.jpg 20250713_121850.jpg I have several bags of copper gaskets for loading and unloading. Probably have enough for the next 3 or 4 years if I changed them at every stop. My former assistant manager at Linde made sure I had enough supplies.

When drivers see my spanner wrench. The ask where did I get it. Or ask what is it that and what is it for. Which is crazy to me that every company doesn't issue them. However they are usually available at ASU facilities. If the driver asks one of the plant operators. But most rather beat the fittings with the brass hammer. And I just take the old hammers to the recycling center also.
