Money or not you’re gonna cost yourself more money than you realize.
how do you know it’s retarded to 13-14 BTDC? An educated guess or a meter.
also with the 7FB pump your running like 9 to 12 degrees advance so you can finish about 30 give or take a degree
The 3ZJ starts at 11.5 or 10.3 or 9.5 but still wants to final out at around 30 give or take a degree. So can you see why what you’re doing is not gonna work long? Because it will bolt on doesn’t mean you should. -
What happened with the C pump you had? I’ve got boxes of used fairly decent stuff. I’m not trying to be a salesman here really just offering help if I can. Maybe I can help you get the C pump going till you get to better times idk. I do understand the money doesn’t grow on trees send me a PM and I’ll try to help you figure that outFeedman, Sons Hero, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 5 others Thank this. -

After discussing things with @Oldiron94 I feel his best solution is taking the govnor section off his 7FB pump and putting it on his 3ZJ pump. That will get his timing back in order hopefully preventing cracked piston tops etc. I decided to put this out in the open forum as it may help someone else later on as these pics are directly from the service manual on how to do that. I would also like to thank @OLDSKOOLERnWV for getting them this morning.Feedman, Sons Hero, Star Rider and 6 others Thank this.
