Actually not at all. Id say 97% of the loads are timed perfectly. Meaning, not too much or too little time on the loads. My next load is balls to the walls, but I don’t mind running hard like this from time to time.

Another thing Holland does — not sure if it has been mentioned — they will “split your load” for payroll cutoff. Payroll cutoff is 0930CST on Tuesdays. All trips need to be in then to be paid that Friday.

However, In other words, if your load doesn’t deliver until the day after the payroll cutoff, you can request to have the miles you’ve run up to that point on that load to be paid on that Friday , and then, pay the remaining miles on the following pay period.

This is quite common because a lot of loads, given the distance, well surpass payroll cutoff.

Lastly, I’m pretty sure they give you the choice of weekly or biweekly pay in orientation. It’s up to the driver to decide which pay cycle would better meet their financial obligations, if any.

I was asking Holland drivers, of which you are not one.

Those long hauls make reefer trucking a lot more profitable and enjoyable for the driver, only averaging two docks a week is nice. Thanks for the information @IWX6279 . This is the way OTR trucking should be done.

In my opinion Iong hauls are not as stressful as the shorter runs. My company stays mostly in the southeast with an average of 250 to 375 mile runs. If the company keeps you running you can trip plan better also.

    Lonwolv54 and IWX6279 Thank this.
