Bridge Strike On NY Thruway

What kind of overheight load could some foreign job from the land of sand and camel races have possibly been hauling that would have been tall and solid enough to hit a freakin’ insterstate overpass? Like who allowed that to happen in the first place? Those guys don’t typically pull anything besides dry van or reefer.

some of those are a little low though especially back east. Anything less than 15 ft should be a no-no on an interstate route

That's some serious damage. I'd like to see what he was hauling to do that.

 

I don't see a height sign in any of the pictures.

 

Best to assume that the Thruway is 13'6" dead. They don't give much extra clearance on most of those bridges. I had a scrap metal hauler hit a bridge next to me and throw some bolts through my windshield years ago.
