Well that would explain it. My dad in the 90's called Yokahamas YOKOCOMAPARTS. He never had one go more than 100K without BLOWING or Breaking a belt.

We have a continental general account. I've never had any problems like that and they wear pretty well. You might look into getting a national account with them. I think new ones cost us $260 as long as they aren't worn down to much to get the recap credit.

I had the drive tires rebalanced....The front tires haven't been on very long, and they have centramatics on them.

I found a receipt from when I bought the tires. Then about a week later, I went back to have the vibration checked. (This i think, was when it all started)... The guy in Harrisburg, PA, at the T/A, who put the new ones on, balanced them with the weights still on the friggin rim. So when I took them back, and had them rebalanced, the left steer had 39 oz on it and the right had 9 oz. I made the guy notate that the tire was already showing a bad spot.

So when I go back to the TA, I'm taking both reciepts and a reciept I got
a month ago for an alignment that stated nothing was out.

With that ammo, I should be able to get new tires. I'm hoping....

Ours has recently done this as well. But only at 69-70mph only. We have an 01 FLD. Our first thought was the skirting.

We also have new driveline, center carrier bearing, u- joints. We also have the centramatics on here.

It rotates three times and then shakes. But Bob Tail, it does not do it at all. So we started to wonder if it was coming from the trailer??? Switched trailers, and still have the wave vibration.

We also have recently have this aligned. We replace the harmonic balancer about 230,000 miles ago.

We just had new drives and steers put on and nothing found to be bent on any of the rims. Tire wear is perfect. This is the best wear that we have had since we bought the truck.

We are just as baffled as you are hrdman.

Have you tried the seatbelt test??? An old timer told my husband that you can hold your ear to the seatbelt shoulder strap while its worn, and you can hear things that you normally wouldn't hear. Kind of acts as a stethascope for the truck. Just a suggestion, we are going to test this theory here in a few minutes, once we get off the 55 mph road.

Centramatics will cause tires to randomly bounce. Many will say I am full of it, but I saw for myself. I had the same bounce on new steers. I had new tires that were machine balanced and Centramatics put on at the same time.

The front of the truck would shake all over the place. THe local front end man told me to take the centramatics off. To prove his point, he jacked up the front and spun up the wheels. The hood looked like it would come off. He then took off the Centramatic, speed balanced the tire prefect so there was no vibration. He then put the Centramatic back on, and the truck went back to almost shaking off the jacks.

The Centramatics were new, and all bearings were free inside. After taking all six of the Centramatics off, truing every tire on the truck, and speed balancing every tire on the truck, it rode like a luxury car. I got my money back on the overpriced ball bearing hoops.

You may have something there. When I get back to the TA, i'm going to have them take off the centramatics...

Like what? Tires? LOL, ok, If I had bought them from a tire shop in Texas, and I needed a warranty in New Jersey, would you suggest that I fedex the tire to Texas, and pay for the shipping back. And the mount & Balance from the tire shop up there?

I wouldn't be so quick to blame the centramatics. I don't think there is any way the centramatics are going to balance a setup out by 39 oz......that is alot.

And as far as jacking up the tire and spinning it and seeing it shake with the centramatics....this could be true. There is not enough centrifugal force acting on the balancing media in the ring at slow speeds. I think the centramatic website says it starts balancing at 21 mph or somewhere near there. I don't think you can spin a tire faster than 21 mph by hand.
