Any local drivers ever relocate for better opportunities?

One of the major benefits of trucking is you can pretty much live anywhere you want in the lower 48 eventually..but probably not right out of the gate..

 

Chicago, Indianapolis, most of Ohio. All should have jobs. Should.

 

You'd be surprised how many truckers, some on this forum, spend lots of time overseas and some work "off-the-books" for cash overseas. All that is a wonderful experience for many of us. I know of one driver on here that's working on the process right now to be a trucker and live in Japan, just to try it out and do something different in life.
Remember, you were a trucker in Milwaukee and finally broke out and became a dairy farmer in Colorado.

 

You're right, there's trucking jobs in every state. Just have to go there and apply and will have a job within 5 days. Move there, get an address and start trucking.

 

Or tanker in Louisiana, Houston, Beaumont Texas. Any of those would be easy to be regional. Probably local. Air gas is mainly a daily local job. Look at Ghent Ky it's hourly can make a lot of money not all airgas are hourly.

 

I bet I would be surprised, what do they make, like 18 Yen a day? I'm just razzin' ya'in true Milwaukee fashion,,( they don't get my upper Midwest humor here for some reason) and they don't have dairy cows in Colorado, all beef, mmm, anyway, I read, a typical pay in Japan for a heavy truck driver is about 3-5,000,000 yen/yr, give or take a mil, about $33,000/yr or about 2330 yen/hr. That comes out to about $15/hr. to drive some corny cabover in some of the worst traffic and air quality conditions in the world. No, I'm going to disagree with you, pal, I would never give up my red, white, and blue, for a rising sun, regardless how seemingly bad it gets. I lived the American dream, that's right, in Wisconsin of all places, a dream many Asians would love to have , with little chance in Japan. I read, the Asian population in the US has DOUBLED since 2000, from 11.9 million, to almost 25 million today, so I'd say the Exodus is t'other way 'round.

 

Is Asia? India or China? IDK.

 

I read, while India is geographically in Asia, they don't consider themselves Asian. My daughter is doing a movie in Malaysia this fall, and while she's been to Europe many times, I'm warning her, those Asian countries are not the good ol' USA. Even Europe is kind of like the US, but Asia is just a different place. Different customs, language, and of course all those US soldier spirits floating around, no thanks, USA USA!!

 

Just do it man. People sit at the same old factory job for 30 years. Don’t do that. You have the perfect opportunity.
