    What would that do?

I found a couple OEM cast 350 cranks nearby for a hundred bucks. Haven't found any 400's yet.

Big tin foe on that hand!
Both sound like excellent choices

Had my eyes peeled for late 80's early 90's Dodge D series for a while. Seen a few nice ones, but can't bring myself to part with any money..

I built a 383 one time for a 68 I had. Used trick flow aluminum heads, TRW forged flat tops, an elcheapo summit 272/282 split duration cam with Harland sharp roller rockers 1.6 ratio. A center squirter Holley and MSD ignition. It wasn’t something you’d take to a shoot out or anything but it surprised lots a people. I’ve always been partial to Big Blocks and I kept the hood down most had no idea a little mouse motor is all I had under the hood. Where most make that fatal mistake is too much cam for what the heads will flow.

Amazon has Vevor brand aluminum loaded SBC heads. They look like knock off Brodix or Promax heads. At 1/3 the price I might be tempted to try a pair on a 2 bolt 350 engine.

Few people were telling me Vortec heads are a decent budget head but after seeing the pricing I could get better flowing performance aluminum heads for the same price.

Well this showed up today. My local Pete place was able to beat 4 states prices after a bit of talking with Herd.

It also seems that Herd screwed up and added lift assist when it wasn't ordered. It was a 600$ish upcharge from my original quote.

Dealership charged me the originally quoted price.

Shorter stroke, quick reving, I was just throwing that option out there. My 67 was factory 300 hp with the double hump heads. I ran a quadrajet from a 73 Buick 455, did a good job for me…..
