I’ve never understood why anyone would need a refresher course on truck driving. Why not just go around to companies close to you and talk to them.A refresher course seems to me a giant waste of time and going to a starter company and getting less money doesn’t make sense.
Refresher course companies, who do you recommend?

It's all about the insurance companies.tscottme, lual and snowmantrucking101 Thank this.

I'm having a hard time believing this, could be photoshopped, a refresher course involves a qualified trainer, if not you just showed a company not to drive for yet posters are telling me to apply there. Just like Chinatown with Schneider, having a hard time believing that, I could be wrong, if I am, I am.Chinatown Thanks this.

The Schneider and Abilene photos were just a joke.
The Schneider photo was after a tornado hit a terminal yard.Speed_Drums, FullMetalJacket and rocknroll81 Thank this. -
That's correct; it's an insurance requirement and some trucking company insurance companies won't even accept that. Fortunately, several trucking companies do accept refresher.rocknroll81 Thanks this.

Ok, I knew something just wasn't right lol, now I can sleep better.Chinatown Thanks this.

I worked there for 10 years, trained for 5 years. Photoshopped? Not hardly. I have a boatload of pictures showing various stages of accumulated trucks in a pile. Abilene use to be a great company. After Knight/Swift Holdings bought them in 2018, they’ve gone down the toilet. I trained quite a few drivers, many are here on TTR working for other companies. They use to do refresher training, now I don’t know for sure.Speed_Drums, rocknroll81, wulfman75 and 1 other person Thank this.

Abilene hired me in Aug2023 after I took about a 2 year break, they hired me with a little talk of refresher training for a couple weeks with a trainer but after road test set
me free solo after orientation.I stayed about a year because getting home started being an issue and I was rescuing way to many loads from other drivers who couldn’t make on time deliveries( not blaming drivers, pretty sure it was the dispatching) started being way to stressful for me, so I found a local spotting job, which sadly just ended so back looking for a job.Chinatown Thanks this. -
Lots of decent companies hire Tallahassee drivers.
Don't you have a thread of your own somewhere on here.
If so let us know and we'll post some companies on there.
This keeps our posts to you from being lost on someone elses thread.
Here's two threads on Tallahassee jobs:
