I have been trucking since 2007. In the last 5 years trucking has gone bad. You would not believe the companies that I have been through.
    1. Crete/Shaffer - I was making around $100,000. Then they sent a message on the Qualcomm that in one week they where going down to $70,000. I called my Disbatch right away. She had said she will get me to $100,000. I work there 7 months more to figure out I was making $60,000. I have many things that went wrong here (Many). I tried taking them to court. The attorneys they had were liers. They lied about almost everything. The Judge threw the case out basically saying it belonged in a state court. I wrote in again and explained this was a trucking company and that it belonged in federal court. He had thrown it out again. A complaint was sent in. I was told that I had to file again and pay. I didn’t have the money at the time.
Then I went on to another company and another one.
The companies advertise a certain pay such as $100,000 per year. You actually make between $40,000 and $60,000.
C R England didn’t do as they said. There wasn’t enough loads to make any decent money.
One company was really bad (CRST) and so I quit. I sent on the Qualcomm that I did not want to discuss it. Then the manager called me. I was nice. I have never yelled or gotten upset at anyone at the companies. I explained things to her. The next thing I know is I was marked as fired. That’s funny because I had not done anything and I had already quit.
Hirshback was a bad company. They had me do enough loads to pay the truck and some money. They said that you would make an excess of $100,000. That was not happening. When I ask them about it they said this is what they have. They get you to buy there truck and make little money.
Finally I just quit a trucking job at NEC Cargo out of Illinois. When I applied it was a good job from what I understood. When I got there the first thing was they had me sign that the trip to the company and the trip going home was paid by me if I quit within 3 months. Now wait, I wasn’t told that before I took the flight. Now they wanted me to sign to accept this. By the second day my house keys where missing. I had not gone anywhere except to get a cup of coffee in the morning. I know that I never took them out of my pocket accept in the truck I was given. I asked Disbatch to ask everyone if they had seen them. I did not here anything from Disbatch about them again. Disbatch asked me and said it jokingly if I would run past my 70 hours. I said NO. Then less then a week later I was on a load but only had 4 1/2 hours. I ran that and sat until the next day. Disbatch got on me wanting to know why I was sitting still (again wanting me to run more than my 70). I had to explained it again to him and told him that I would be ontime.
Now the pay. I was hired as an employee but they had me sign a contract that had to do with owner operators. The first week there was a holiday July 4th. Instead of being paid the day before they paid me on Tuesday following the holiday. This was the first company in my life that has done this. Then the following week Friday came and I called the lady from payroll because I didn’t get paid. She stateted that it would be on Monday. Monday came and I called her and she said I would get it on Tuesday. Then July 29th came (a Tuesday) and she said something happened that I will get it in a couple of days. Now it is August 5th and there is no pay. The lady said she doesn’t know when I will get paid.
I texted another person from the company and they supposedly are going to get me paid. He says that is not the way things are supposed to be done. Also they had never given me a copy of what I signed. He said they sent it to my email twice in the last couple of days but I have not gotten it in anyway whether it was in spam or my inbox. That is the way the company is.

I would never sign something and not get a copy for myself before I did any work for the company.

You went to two loser companies, CRE and CRST. Why? Was your record that bad?

And NEC would be running on a 1099, right? A Chicagoland company on a 1099. What could go wrong.

How could Crete just tell you you were going down to 70000? Did they reduce your cpm. Sure there are other crete drivers here who could verify this

I have been looking for a good company to work for. When the pandemic was ending that’s when things in trucking started to go south. Yes NEC Cargo run on a 1099 but takes out $2400 in case you get into an accident. There is more such as this week not being paid yet. They are 2 days late and when I talked to them on payday payroll said she didn’t know when I would get paid. This is a really bad company.

How much experience do you have? You've started a gauntlet of companies here. If you're expecting to get rich driving a truck, then you're going to think every single company is a bad company. I only say this because your posts give this vibe. Just so you know, just about every driver is seeing some reduction in pay since the pandemic. Freight is foul right now.
