If I don't have to shovel it, it's ok with me.

tonight's speed experiment, this is 45,000 of steel on the deck slight crosswind, not like the windsock looks like a 14 year old that just discovered Tyra Banks for the first time windy, more like they realized there 40 something yr old teacher used to have an only fans windy this was trying to hold 80 and heat not coming back down, so we went back down to direct and pushed 72 at 1550 and heat regulated back down to low 700's which ain't ideal but it's a hell of a lot better then 826 and climbing in overdrive IMG_20250807_185704311_HDR.jpg IMG_20250807_185706527_HDR.jpg IMG_20250807_185704311_HDR.jpg IMG_20250807_185706527_HDR.jpg

Ohh and yeah she's got legs, but when your face looks like a brick and in the wind your pulling a brick the legs don't work that great. But yeah she holds speed alot better with the 2.74's in the rear then the 3.55's it's just your in easier gears for her to pull

I might have forgot. But what you running that you like the 2.74. I have 3.58's and don't even shift into Hi gear till 72-73mph.

Dang those tall gears would suck in the mountains out west. I used to have 3.25 in my blue pete. Thought that was tall enough. Had to drop half a gear just looking at a hill

Not really kinda the opposite, the closest I come to a mountain is the hill coming out of Duluth, which is like 6% with some steeper areas for like 5 or6 miles, 3.55 bone stock 475 mbn tune i would be in 8th gear on the 15 speed (lo reduction) so basically 8th gear on a ten speed going 35-38 by the top of that fully loaded, 2.74 same gear (8th) going around 55 by the top of it, you use the same gear you always used to pull up the hill but you are carrying more speed, the parasitic loss on overdrive is around 20% depending on who's study you are reading, your parasitic loss on your rear end gears is around 2%. The best pulling truck in the world would utilize the 2.26 gears from a Volvo and more than likely a custom manual 12spd that didn't even have overdrive gears in it. If you were pulling a 1.38 gear with those rear ends you would be at 70mph at 1700rpm with that exact set up, so you would more than likely crest the hill around that, but wind drag and other factors might limit you to having to down shift.
