I know someone that, elk hunts with a .300 win mag. In territory that that I carry my .308 marlin, that .300 is overkill for the area.

The .300 is a true WTF cannon. Mine's an A Bolt II. It's really light. I don't really care for light weapons either. It kicks like nineteen(19) mofo's.thatsright, austinmike, JolliRoger and 11 others Thank this.

Is he trying to get both the elk he’s aiming at, and the one 50 yards beyond?

Any weapon. The Glocks aren't that heavy. The .223's and the AR-10, all the magnums are heavy. The .38 snubby isn't. But it's for special occasions.JolliRoger, homeskillet, Dale thompson and 7 others Thank this.
