That a tuff one. Probably start with leaving all the doors open for 24 hours. Then some carpet shampoo

she could try lighting a cigarette in it. Probably burn the fumes off. No, I’m not recommending this, just saying it might work.

Throw baking soda on gas area. Then vacuum it up? 2 hours or 4????

You have to get the source out of the carpet and insulation that was soaked with the gasoline.
Probably start with a steam cleaner/ extraction machine. Then use cheap cat litter on the point of the spill. Let stand for a day or three. Then vacuum up. May have to do the litter part a few times.
