My desire is to find a Freightliner with the following specs

    500 hp
    13 speed with overdrive
    3.58 to 3.42 rears
    200-250 gallons of fuel
    Double bunk
    APU would be nice (tripac)
    all aluminum wheels
    either Century or Coranado.
Something before 2008 that doesnt have the regenerative yet.

the attached pic is what I would like to get, too poor to buy, can only dream

    OK, here we go...

An aero truck(ducks as the old-schoolers throw old fuel filters at me). I'd go with a KW T-series Aerocab, FL Columbia, or Pete 386 or 378.

Midroof. (I'm too tall for a flattop.) I don't team drive any more, and one bunk is enough for me. Can't see more than 60" on the sleeper. I'm not throwing dinner parties in the #### thing, I'm sleeping or putzing about on the computer. Plus, if you want to run flats, a midroof is good. If you run tank, a midroof is almost mandatory.

Cummins motor. I'd prefer an N-14, but an ISX is OK as well. 460+hp. Detroit if I have to. NO proprietary motors, and if I see yellow under the hood, I'm outta there.

13 Double Overdrive. 10 can be annoying, and 18 is more gears, weight and expense than you really need unless you run Heavy Haul and drag battleships around all day.

3:53's or so. Coupled with a big motor, they'll get you up the hills and still get great mileage.

    Twin 150's.

An APU. Something light, simple and reliable.

22.5's. No Super Singles--in my opinion, the possibility of being stuck when you blow one isn't worth the weight tradeoff.

No flashy paint, no funky lights, no extra chrome. I want it to look as unobtrusive as possible.

Comfortable mattress, power outlets in sane locations.

An electronic shield device that zaps lot lizards and panhandlers who try to wake me up. (I can dream, can't I?) :biggrin_2559:
