I previously stated that we have freight paying much more than $1.00/mile. I really probably shot myself in the foot when I said $1.00 because of the amount of freight we are hauling that does pay much more. Obvisouly that turns people away.

My opinion , not that of the company's, is that I would rather tell you a guarenteed amount than a possibility. Yes, the majority of our freight is paying more than $1.00/mile to the O/O. We accept nothing less than $1.00/mile. and we only accept that kind of rate in order to get into the area of a better paying load.

For example: a driver could run in and out of FL for 4-5, little to NO deadhead at all. Deliver a load in orlando, bring backhaul to Jax, Fitzgerald, GA deliver to orlando, orlando to jax, etc. None of our trucks are dedicated and all have fair shot at every load on our dispatch. After his fuel comes out he brings home $1,500+

We have dedicated backhauls to bring drivers out of FL.

Example: Zephyrhills, Fl to Douglas, ga (9 miles from our yard)

    Orlando, FL to Jacksonville, FL

If you go into Fl without a BH, the load in pays enough to cover DH back out. but trust me, we do our best to not DH a truck

I think you shot yourself in the foot with the $1.00-1.15 avg. A true avg. is all money divided by all miles. The good with the bad.
