Try to keep this short. Basically, I'm 33 female want to become a 310T mechanic. I work remote from home right now and rent an apartment plus have car partment. Was thinking of going to school for 2 years for the Truck & Coach or Motive Power Tech Diesel as a way in but worry that I won't be able to go full-time and still pay rent.
So, I signed up for evening classes for welding and small engine repair. I figure this will at least show I can do some mechanical type things on my resume.
I'm hardworking, eager to learn, and motivated. I've tried calling a few places but have yet to actually speak to anyone. Live in Simcoe Ontario but can commute.
Wondering if anyone has any advice on how to get your foot in the door? Or how else I can improve my resume without going the full-time college route.
