different for each truck, my truck maybe able to run for 1.50 and break even (on truck and at home) but i'll hold out for 2.00 just so i can sleep better at nite.. Your truck may need 1.70 to break even, for the truck and 1.80 for truck and the house.. depends on your fixed costs and variable costs.. it's not too hard to figure it out if ya know ya bills.
-
i like anything over 1.50 pulling dry van but thats hard to come by

I run flat and every thing i'am hauling now is over $2 a mile it cost me $1.15 to run my truck and trailer so i dont take anything that will pay less than $1.55 for all miles loaded and empty, it all depends on the area i know for flats i'am getting over $3 a mile from down south to come north and my van is averaging around $1.45 for all miles running the northeast.
-
question...does that $1.15/mi include what you pay yourself/driver? Or is that honestly what it costs to move just the truck not counting driver pay?
-
I saw a sign today that said stop driving cheap $1.60 to $2.00 mile o/o and .85 mile for co driver the company was SLT express does any body have any info on them, there site shows the haul haz and oversize equip, wonder does anybody have experience w/ them. Thanks.

The $1.15 is just what it cost to run the truck and trailer not my pay, and thats all costs fuel ,maintance ,insurance and the rest of the costs for the 1st quarter of 2010.

Wow, $2 a mile for a flat? I need to raise my rates. My trailers cost $125k a piece and that doesn't even count the $20k pump!
