Ummm yea , I hardly think you have to worry about anyone takin yer radio away . . .
If they took yours , they would have to take about 40 million other radios away too . . .
Ya got the cops and DOT in and out of yer truck all the time .
Nuthin ever happends.
Maybe every once in a million years ya get some guy with a stick up his *** , lookin to make captain overnight.
But the feds are just a lil too buzy right now to be dealing with yout loud ardio , that's no more louder than the next guys loud radio . . . -
Wanna bet?

You better believe it, sir. Just ask our ham guys. First, the FCC will send a letter to the owner of the truck. After that, the fines come out.

one of my budies just bought a magnum ,he had a freedom ranger in his truck before,I talk to him everyday and hear him further than the freedom ranger he had before. We have compared the two radios, the magnum is much quieter and hears alot farthur than the ranger,it also talks furthur, same antenna also on both times of testing. like corey says the blue lights are pretty, but, you have to dim them as they light up the whole cab. there is also a magnum with lighted dials but, really, too much on your eyes.

IF you STAY on channel 19 and KNOW you are ON the CB band ONLY you will be fine. There are NO extra channels available for use without license in the US. Period. Just because the tempting additional channels are "quiet" does not mean they are available for you to use. Some people think that because there is no talking there, they must be "empty". That is NOT true. They are ASSIGNED to other users, many of whom have licenses from, FCC and DOD.
Now. A bunch of these frequencies (28.000 thru 29.700 MHZ) are assigned to the Amateur Service. Amateurs obtain licenses to operate that segment (it's called "10 Meters"). Some parts of it are reserved for digital modes such as Morse Code, Pactor (packets of digital info), Slow scan TV, and various phone modes. The lower end of 10 meters is reserved for digital modes. That's why it may seem like no one is using those frequencies. But you may be hearing some beeps and burps that don't mean anything to YOU, but they are "talking" to each other using these modes and via computer screens! So when CBers go onto those frequencies, they INTERFERE with these operations and it makes the Amateurs MAD! And sometimes they will go out and HUNT for the offending stations---even cruise the interstates to "trap" truckers who are talking on 10 Meters. Trust me, it HAS been done. And the hams are quite good at it as they have received more training that the usual CB operator. That's NOT a put-down; its just a fact. So, long story short, stay OFF those "uppers" and "lowers". They belong to somebody via licensure. You could get into trouble!!!
Stay on the normal channels, no probs. There are NO extra channels for anybody---truckers or otherwise. Besides, there's 40 channels already. There's no NEED to go into someone ELSE's house!

Are you kidding ME!!! The DOT are not FCC officers can't and will not write tickets for a import radio. I've been out here 18 years and never seen it. If it's not in your green DOT hand book there's nothing they can DO!!! I run over 5,000 watts outta my OWN truck and have NEVER had a problem!!! I talk on 11, 6, 26, and 32 all the time shooting skip. There's nothing wrong with your magnum at all. Have fun and enjoy your radio!!!
Dzbullrider and SGTSmokdU Thank this.
