Greetings everybody, I currently have a good paying job but worried about the future security shall I say. I am considering doing night classes at Western Tech in El Paso. The course is 10 weeks long, 4 weeks class, 2 weeks range, and 4 weeks driving. If I'm able to get my permit before class starts, they would give me credit for the 4 weeks, and I would start at a later date than everyone else. The fee is $3k if you pay up front, and $4,800 if you have to make payments. The classes are M-F 18:00 - 22:00, which works with my schedule. I would like to know if anyone has attended this school or have any feedback about it. My plan is also to relocate to San Antonio, as I only work and stay in El Paso at this time. Thanks in advance.

How many hours is the school? 10 weeks?
Get all the endorsements while in school. Endorsements are future money in the bank.
San Antonio is a good location for trucking jobs.BrothaTrucka513 and Lonwolv54 Thank this. -
Approximately 200 hours, unless I get my permit before arriving. Then it would be about, 120 hours. Yes, it is 10 weeks or only 6 if I arrive with my permit.Chinatown Thanks this.

Some companies want minimum 120 hours and some want 160 hours or anything in-between.
There's a couple that want 200 hours. -

Why would they give you credit for four weeks if you show up with a CLP? I took a 210 hour class in Texas and was required to show up with a valid DOT physical and CLP in hand before the class started.
Neither is hard to acquire. I believe the CLP cost me about $25 and the DOT physical was $100. -

I don't know what type trucks are used. That's a good question to ask if you're interested.
