The State Department is suspending work visas for truck drivers

Aint that the truth. Lots of money changing hands in that whole deal. Lot of people getting rich by way of something that will most likely never come to fruition

 

Okay, obviously this is a troubling thread, couldn't sleep thinking about it, not that I sleep well anyway.. At 1st, I watched the dash cam video, and you guys are right, there wasn't much the van could have done. It appears, they attempted to move to the left, sealing their fate, never thinking the truck would turn in front of them. I guess I was so amazed we even saw that, the distracted driving is what I first thought of. Upon reviewing the video again, due to the dash cam, and the angle of the turning, we have a front row seat watching this unfold. That's pretty harsh to actually see that . Like watching 911 videos of the plane hitting the towers, only a much smaller scale. And the unrestrained passenger, munching away at his snack, blissfully unaware of the tragedy about to unfold. The site wisely chose not to show the video, and if that was my family, I'm not sure what I would do. What, hire a hit man to take him out at the courthouse?
Now, another thought,,,,,on a previous thread, we discussed the "death clock" and spun into a religious rap, but let's just say, it was their time to go, and God "hired" this person to carry out the deed,,,

 

They should deal with the company too…. Like out of business

 

I think when it’s someone’s time to go, God aligns the circumstances so that they of their own free will end up in a situation where something like this happens to them. It doesn’t mean the way it happens was his first choice of how they would die, it just means he used a situation he knew would happen to accomplish his purpose.

I think people that engage in extreme sports and live life on the edge might tempt God to shorten their lives from what he may have originally planned, but there again it’s their choice to do it.

 

I agree, the truck driver was at fault, however the mini van took no evasive action to break or turn having seconds to do so. It seems the mini van was not paying attention to driving or was distracted unfortunately. Also, I lived in Asia and the driving rules there are highly flaunted and people do u-turns all the time on all streets and roads. This driver comes from such a country where they do this and life is still cheap.

Take a look at the divers reaction after the accident. It's like he had no remorse at all. The co-driver is the one videoing it all so he can post it on youtube and make money off the clicks. Again, life is cheap and a few dollars is all the matters to him. You can watch foreign drivers in truck stops and all over disregarding the safe, courteous and unwritten codes of driving. I have had many instances where foreign drivers almost caused accidents and drove discourteously. There is no argument-more than American drivers, foreign drivers are more dangerous and inconsiderate on US roads.

 

What does the video tell you of the co-driver? It tells me he does not have any sense of safety and has no problem with his driver doing a u-turn. He is just busy not caring what the driver does. He is also to blame. Any 'decent' driver would have spoken-up and even screamed; " No u-turn"! However he accepts this unlawful turn as just a way to save time and could not care less. This is the mentality of many many foreign drivers.

The co-driver is videoing it later and post on youtube to make a few dollars; so what a few people got killed but I am getting a lot of clicks for this video. Neither showed any remorse at all by the video. Sad what trucking has come to in America.

 

It looks like the 4 wheeler was making evasive action that sealed his fate. He was moving from slow lane to fast lane to give truck the room to get back on the road. When he realized he had nowhere to escape, (my guess) he was in shock.

First of all, I don't know if that was a co-driver, perhaps another illegal immigrant that probably took off running. I'm not sure who is doing the filming, and I say, the driver is frozen in shock. I think you are giving him too much credit. I'm entirely sure he could not read English, and was more concerned with his missed exit, and didn't have the brains to think that a u-turn might be dangerous. Who knows, it may not have been the 1st time either, just nothing ever happened. Sadly, this is nothing more than a series of failures and as long as humans of ANY kind are at the wheel, you can't have zero risk. While this video clearly targets an illegal immigrant, don't kid yourself, I'm sure regular bozos do this kind of thing. Just look at the "related categories",,,looks like a lot of screwups, and not all illegal aliens either. Don't get me wrong , I can't think of a punishment severe enough for what this guy did, but rest assured, it's not the last.
BTW, I think I read somewhere, there's a group that's actually defending this guy,,
