Saw this in a c-store. This stuff can be lethal. The strongest I’ve seen is that Redline stuff they sell in certain Loves stops. If you guys ever try these things, be sure to read the label and check for cautions. Redline will only be 4-5 ounces, but counts as 2 servings with a caution note for 1 serving.

Ummm....I had a new cover, that was the reason for trying to remove the old one. Not sure what, in my message, was confusing? I was taking my time, because I wanted to get the bolts out without snapping or stripping them worse than I had already done trying to get them out with the sockets and making the job more difficult. I had an easy out set, but there were gaps in it, and once the one bolt stripped, I knew I needed other sizes of easy-outs, than I had, hence, getting the right tools. I already had all the parts to do the job, as I had gotten one bolt out the first day, and test the one set of four I had bought to make sure they were the right ones. When they were, I went the next day, and got 8 more bolts, the easy outs, and a 3/8" impact socket SAE & Metric set...since I didn't have any.

I need to replace the fill plug, but it looks like I'll have to see if the dealer has one, as I mushroomed the end using the hammer impact bit trying to loosen it up. I can reuse it for now to keep it from letting contaminants in, but prefer to get a new one. Checked the local auto parts stores and they don't have them in stock, so either get it online or go to the dealer...and the dealer will be faster if they have it.

My mention of getting the whole rear end is because once under there, I see it's all really rust jacked, the spring holders look like they need to be replaced, too, as it seems only the failed soundproofing/rustproofing is holding the flimsy metal together. The rear sway bar and holders are rust jacked, as well as the spare tire holder assembly which broke and no longer will hold the spare. Hence, my mention of maybe needing to go back to work, to pay for it all. :)

I just had the entire brake system replaced last year, so I'm already kind of committed to finshing the job or abandoning it. :(

I hear you. I'm on a daily half tab of 6mg Colchicine for prevention, and can take a whole one in case of an attack...and yeah, well aware of the concern about excessive use of it, as there was a murder mystery movie that did a story based on that as a murder weapon. :)
I also am on Allopurinol. I was at 100 mg a day, but just got jacked up to 300 mg so it better lower it this time. The suspected gout cause in my case, seems to be the ramipril I take for high blood pressure, as it's a known cause, and my first episode was while I was on it taking one a day. I was jacked up to 3 a day in 2021, which I think is the reason I had the bad episode in 2021, that basically crippled me for 2 weeks.

NSAID's, Aspirin in particular, by the way, are supposedly a trigger also, which is probably why when I take Anacin (400mg aspirin, 32mg Caffeine), I have attacks sometime after. The Anacin was being used to keep my Fibromyalgia under control....so...:(

However, I agree they aren't 100 percent of what else causes it, but the correlation is Uric acid levels and whatever increases that level is what they look at. :(

They last longer in Missippi as long as not in a flood, than they do up here in the salty rust belt....but this one was doing good, so for me, it's going to be a decision of either saving it, or cutting loss and looking for a newer older model or a newer/older PU, as I need cargo area. :(

We have a truck that is doing the exact same thing. I’m also curious about it.
