I agree! I never see anything in ohio for them :( you see airgas which I spoke about ... which may be different in other cities but maybe not ANC are all day cab slips. Not sure about linde I'd like to assume linde being the global leader is neck and neck with air products with employee tenure

    Yup.

Airgas is always hiring but they also have a lot of terminals. They're everywhere.

This is my biggest issue and is going to be the one that makes me quit. I have sent some nuclear group texts about the BS that goes on at my barn with the slobs and lazy butts.

I wish Hillsboro had their shat together. It’s crazy to me how many local companies up here just push off maintenance, and don’t care when drivers trash the trucks

The drivers are a huge part of the issue. The boss cant get stuff scheduled to be fixed if guys WONT WRITE CRAP UP. A messy truck is the least of his concerns. As long as we can make safe deliveries, He doesnt get involved and I cant blame him. He is too busy to worry about babysitting grown adults. We have one that will occasionally write something up, but never turns in the DVIR. "Well I wrote it up and he never did anything, so what does it matter" "Yes, you wrote it up and left the form in the DVIR book. You have to give it to him so he knows" "Well why cant he just go check the books?" "You cant be that stupid..........omg.......you really are......"

We've been really busy all year down in Texas.

Making that owner operator money this labor day holiday. Except I get to keep it all and nothing goes to fuel and maintenance lol

    WOW..
We've had our own shop/mechanics on since I started 15 yrs ago.
Used to be 3, w 1 dedicated to cryo type work. Now just 2 who do it all.
They were Ryder employees but contractually leased to Praxair.
It was great because they were certified Volvo and Freightliner mechanics and could do warranty work so we hardly ever separated a unit.
About 8 yrs ago company got into a pissing match w Ryder over training costs, as they all have to be continuously updated on new technologies.
We replaced them w a trailer maintenance company that cut the cost for them but left it harder to get proper repairs..
This led to no warranty work done here and the eventual stoppage of Volvo purchases for our plant since dealer was so far away.

Our solution was to write EVERYTHING up and red tag all 396 repairs and refuse to take ANY equipment that could be issued any type of ticket whether to the driver or vehicle. License plate light out..OOS!
Really wasn't much they could do so they canned the lead mechanic, who was lazy, and replaced him w a go getter and hired a former plant tech and turned him into a mechanic. Although he still goes to school for different certifications it is 100% better for the drivers and the equipment. It helps that new drivers during training get cut -aways of pumps and valves and instructions on how to write stuff up.

Probably helps our supervisor was a driver, then plant tech before moving to the white collar side..
Matter of fact I trained him for a bit way back when.

Yes, but not really. Amazon is building their own satellites to compete with Elons stuff and thats why big pickup up north. We have 2 other plants in Gresham that are giving more work than expected becasue both are old and being cranky. but I have 2 nights this week of just baby sitting and topping off stuff. The others were all up north serving Amazon. We've had more LOX loads lately which is odd, because our stuff is Ultra Pure and super expensive. So I dont know if theyre cutting some deals or if that side is picking up a little. I still havent done a LOX load solo. I got 2 days training a year ago and that was it. They tried to put some on me a month or 2 ago and I said no, that I need to be retrained.
