@Pepper24 As for the pre-employment at the CDL school, they are required to conduct pre-employment drug tests before letting you operate a CDL required vehicle on public roads. All reputable schools do the same thing. They have to treat you the same as any driver that would be hired by a regular trucking company.

Now, as for them reporting the positive test result to the Clearinghouse, did you already have your commercia learner's permit when you were tested or was the drug test prior to you obtaining your permit? Until you have a valid CLP, meaning you passed the knowledge exams and have the permit authorizing yo uto practice driving on the range and road, they cannot give you a DOT regulated drug test, and cannot report the results. If you had a CLP, then yes, they are required to report the results.

At TDI you are given the drug test after you pass the knowledge test. So I had my CLP prior to the test. Sorry to be redundant.

I figured you did, but just double checking. I have seen schools screw this up and administer a DOT test on day 1, before students actually have a permit. It may have been a way out of the RTD process for you. That's all.

Just to clarify, there's a Vancouver WA-based company called Hawk Logistics LLC with USDOT number 2368914 that appears to have no affiliation whatsoever with the SAP-friendly Hawk Logistics LLC that occasionally gets talked about in these forums. I don't think anyone's ever posted anything here about the Vancouver company. Because they get confused with that other one, their website hawklogisticsllc.com explicitly mentions "No SAP Drivers [SAP drivers are not eligible for hire.]"
