There's lots of them. I like Oklahoma myself, along with anything in the rural midwest, anything not on either coast, but if I had to on either coast, the further away from the populated areas were best.

North idaho or north western montana for me.. no truck stops no rest areas, hardly any cell service . Find a good pullout off the highway next to the river. Break out the grill and steaks. Life is good .. might get woken up by a elk scratchin himself on ur headache rack .

Or those nice ID pulloffs with the no cell service, no traffic, snow on the ground, and a hot spring to soak in while drinking a cold one.singlescrewshaker, Sons Hero, 1951 ford and 11 others Thank this.

The wind farms were excellent for that.
If you could imagine a county road grid…they would widen the main one out 40 ft wide. All you would do is either pull onto the main road, go to one side and park, or they would take you to your unload spot called a ######. The ###### was the spot with the 30 ft deep concrete where they would bolt down the big wind tower base. You get parked, send the pilot cars out for beer and steaks. The places were breezy and extremely quiet and desolate. I used to hit golf balls for distance, or do target practice with a compound bow. If there were a fishing hole nearby, the whole crew could go fishing.
A wind project would take 8-9 months. It was an extremely easy laid back form of trucking. The only problem was the length of time away from the house. This all changed for me in 2014 when I bought my first motorcycle. If I could take a bike with me, I would never go home.singlescrewshaker, 1951 ford, CAXPT and 9 others Thank this. -

In my part of the world they may not know how to hang them, but they certainly know to leave them on 24/7.
