Your comment requires some editing. Drivers who suffer from UNTREATED sleep apnea MAY BE prone to suffer from drowsiness.
I have suffered with sleep apnea since junior high school. It has only been in the Last 12 years of my life that I have had treatment for the condition. If you notice i've been driving for 15 years.
Yes i was extremely tired before treatment. But i never fell asleep while driving. That being said, i would not give up my CPAP machine for any amount of money.

He didn't say exactly. He simply pointed to the chart and said, "you have 90 days to lose three pounds."
90 days is the probationary period for new hires.
Other drivers that were in the same orientation and obviously over a 30 were told "...the company's target BMI for drivers is 30.."
I don't know if they are pushing to get more in line or if they are going to seriously follow thru.
I have a friend that drives for another company and he told me they are doing the same thing. I suspect (and again, this is MY opinion) that larger companies are trying to get their ducks in a row for CSA2010, and the rumors circulating that some kind of index will be adapted is causing them to preemtively start bringing drivers in line with what MAY be.
I don't know for sure, but just using the government's statistics on population being overweight, I would suspect most drivers are overweight, so therefore most accidents involve overweight drivers.
Insurance companies may eat this up?!

I have a couple friends that have them. They both told me about $2,500.
Often insurance companies will pick up part or all of the costs.
I've seen them listed on line used for a few hundred.

DAAAAAMMMMMNNNNN.... They don't want much do they. I guess I need to take a look and see what one of these thing's look's like. I don't have trouble sleeping and haven't been tested but still wake up tired and wondering if one would help. My other half say's I don't snore at all and only very lightly when I dogged out. Maybe back pain to be a cause also?

I just had my two year DOT physical and the doc didn't say anything about BMI. I can't find anything on the long form about my BMI. I agree it is most likely your companys requirement. Insurance premiums maybe?????

    There's a new regulation.....

"All new government programs must have their proposed acronyms evaluated, subjected to congressional debate and presented to Congress before the new program can be funded. The acronym MUST roll off the tongue with minimal effort, cannot be less than 6 characters long, must contain at least one capital letter and 1 numeral.":biggrin_2559:

Lol. ####. Now one last question about this CPAP machine. Who in the hell can tolerate that #### strapped to their face while they are alseep or trying to go to sleep. That would bug the #### out of me and cause me to loose more sleep than anything.

Time for some home made coffee! Who want's some? And I don't make that lighter than air BS. I make it strong enough to remove paint off of concrete! That's a cup of joe!

The tune of $2,500 just made my head come off my shoulder's and rotate 360 degree's before setting back down in a disired position.
