Update to my question above. I called corporate L&M Transportation Services which is LMTS for short. Turns out, this place is a broker house and I was able to verify some information on a guy supposedly brokering for them.

C.H. Robinson did a no show today. We didn't get a reason why. The load was doing from Houston to Oklahoma City. Just over 3.00 a mile to get there by Saturday at 4pm. To keep our customer happy I'm going to have to take it. (local Houston driver) If they would have just called to let us know they where not coming it would have been great. We do understand that things come up.

WOAH! $3.00 a mile! And who says that rates are down! Seems like CH Roberson is making some money off brokering the loads and brokering them out for half of what they charged the shipper or receiver to broker it!
Dude!~ your company got screwed by that bottom feeder CH Robertson freight brokers! I'd be calling them and telling them that you'll pay $1.50 a mile due to them being late and failure to inform you of the carrier they brokered the load to or letting you know of any delivery issues as they have drivers do check calls and bend over backward for their cheap rates! -
ch is a broker not a carrier, did they actually book the load with one or hold the load?

We will not use them agian. We use multiple brokers but the best one we have had so far is Pioneer. The drivers say they are the most fair. -
I am looking for a broker email me at at thurmondlatoya@yahoo.com -
Have any of you guys and/or gals had any dealings with JRC Logistics out of Chantilly,Va? I'm thinking of talking with them about a brokerage position and would like to find out what kind of reputation they have. If they're honest I'll see if we can work some kind of deal. Thanks for any imput and safe travels.

The only experience I've had with them wasn't a very good one.
They offered me a frozen load for 60 cents a mile a couple years ago when fuel was at it's peak. I very politely told them that I do not run cheap freight for ANYONE at ANYTIME so please do not call me again. Their Chicago office started calling and harassing me 15-20 times a day, sometimes as early as 4am. When I called the president of the company in VA, all he had to say was that they do not work that way so there was nothing he could do about it. Luckily I was able to start blocking incoming phone numbers so it slowed down quite a bit but I had to go as far as having to file a police report for harassment to get them to stop. Illinois doesn't have any laws on the books preventing anyone from calling and harassing a business but since I am an owner operator and my cell phone is in my name, I was able to claim that it is a personal phone, not a business phone and get the situation rectified without anyone going to jail.
Most brokers have no morals or integrity anymore. Do you want to be one of them or do you want to be able to sleep at night? The choice is yours.Last edited: Jun 27, 2010
AfterShock and wcurtin1962 Thank this. -
Thanks Rockrawln, I don't play games like that with people, I'm still a driver deep down and that will never change. I'll go talk to the guy this week anyway but I would guess theres not much there if they pull that kind of crap. I have to be able to sleep at night which means treating people the way I would like to be treated. Should I give it a go there won't be any of that going on, I can promise you guys that. Don't need anybodys money that bad. Maybe I'll just go get a truck and do my own thing. Thanks again, happy and prosperous miles to ya.
