That was known as a Canadian slider.
We could load a 85k gross load (with 36500 on both drives and 12000 on the steers) closed tandem and spread at the border to move up to 2500# back to the spread and if there was some to move onto the steers it might be as much as 600#.OLDSKOOLERnWV, High Stepper, broke down plumber and 7 others Thank this. -

My youngest sister invited me to hang out with her crew. The place was freaking loud. Flashing lights, smoke machine and what I would guess is techno music. My sister and her friends would get 1 drink, hog an area and sip on the same drink for 2-3 hours. Ended up in the balcony and told the waitress to bring a drink every 10 minutes till I say stop. I didn’t know that they wait for some dude to buy drinks. I realized that I have only been in 2 clubs in my entire life. And have been in probably half a million bars.
What is the number one difference between a bar and a club? FOOD.
Decades ago, on the bigroad, there with twitty bars and strip clubs. For example, Jill’s over near WheelingWV. Strip club. On i40, across the highway from the North40 truck stop, there was Country Hooters. And of course, the old WeBareAll spots going down I75. The old twitty bars had AWESOME FOOD and okay women. The club had hotter women, but very limited on the food. Sorry, ladies…I am here to feed the Machine.
I also found out that the only reason why my sister invited me was because she thought I would pay for her and her friends. I hope they brought some money…otherwise they’ll have to work the parking lot.Sons Hero, OLDSKOOLERnWV, exhausted379 and 6 others Thank this. -

Thanks for all the info guys, much appreciated.
Looking at TruckPaper again, and I'm not sure if the slider 48's weren't listed last I looked, or I had my search messed up, but I found several options this time closer to my budget.
All were the rear axle slide which I assume is most common since that's what I've seen most.
I'll make some phone calls tommorrow and see if I can get some weights. None listed in the ads.cke, OLDSKOOLERnWV, CAXPT and 7 others Thank this.
