Is relocating a deal breaker? My former pilot crew here in WY cant keep people to the point they're throwing out a 3k signing bonus. They hired a dude from California last year with no experience so if you want fuel experience I'd give it a consideration:

Casey’s doesn’t really have any trucks west of Lincoln around here. They used to have some based in North Platte but pulled them out. The stores that aren’t handled by them outside of Lincoln and Omaha are handled by other carriers. We do a ton of stores for them.Whiteout out West and OldeSkool Thank this.

I’m with you there. I’d quit trucking before I’d be gone nights. Thankfully for around the 10 years I’ve been driving I’ve always been local. I’m pulling flatbed now, really like it.Zonno and FloridaBoy93 Thank this.

Some of us single guys without a family are tired of that sleeper $#@* too. There's absolutely no reason a driver should have to stay in the sleeper when they're within 150 air miles of their home terminal.Zonno, OldeSkool and FloridaBoy93 Thank this.

Some guys like being out on the road, more power to them, ill never get it. My bed at home is too comfortable.

Im local atm but honestly regional 4 days on, 3 off was the best schedule I've had. Every local job has been 65-70 hours a week. 40-70 minutes commute 1 way. By the time you ####, shower, and shave, you've slept 6 hours a day or less for 5-6 nights in a row.
I said I'd never go back to sleeping in a truck, honestly, now I miss it. Local sucks. Especially if you're on call. Companies dont give a #### at all about calling you 3-4 times in the middle of your 10. Local really sucks when the job pays #### for 70 hour weeks and the company steals a big chunk of your paycheck every pay period.Numb Thanks this. -
I hated local and it was rotting my brain. OTR is the way to go for many of us.

This sounds more like a specific company issue rather than a local issue. Even food delivery with sysco wasn't that bad for me, and I've been local 7 out of 8 jobs in trucking minus one regional job. But hey there's always a way make better money and life on the road if you're willing.OldeSkool and FloridaBoy93 Thank this.
