Yesterday I delivered an oversize amphibious assault vehicle in the city of Boston at rush hour which was needed immediately for some kind of manuvers. It was comical and sad how stupid and selfish the average driver was. The state police who was in front would move vehicles onto the shoulder to pass and people would immediately try to cut back in behind him between us to take advantage of the forward progress with no regard for this truck with a huge load and signs and flags and lights flashing. The cop got so frustrated that he took me down the wrong route. We got into downtown Boston at 8:30 AM... before it was over there had to be 15 cops involved and it looked like a presidential motorcade. Quite an experience. The cop said "you drive all over the country, are these the worst drivers?" to which I replied "I think here and Miami are the 2 worst".

Prime example of "ME FIRST" I don't understand how letting a big truck make his turn or pass by and delay a four wheeler 10 seconds is reason to cut a truck off. Unless they truly have no clue.

I do DOT CHP escorts on a regular basis. CHP prefers to make the move during the night time hours. Here in California, I have nothing but great things to say about CHP Escorts. Even though Ca. speed limit for trucks is 55mph, they always say run as fast as you want. The move will usually consist of 4 CHP vehicles two in front and two in the back and the left lane(s) are used. They all have CB's for communication with the driver. It's a lot of fun and the pay is outstanding.

Well, I was there, left about 5:30. Was speaking with a driver in a Glenmoore truck, is that you? Other than that there were 30 or 40 others... :) Hauling the same vehicle back to Tampa this morning sitting on the side of I93 waiting for the 9am curfew to be over. We were escorted out of Boston right through the tunnel at 6am.
