Satisfaction is.....

I've been a carrier for 6 years, what do you talking about. I was highly successful until they've imported the illegals here and gave them CDL's to destroy the industry. And I've never stayed in a truck with no A/C. I've always booked a hotel when the truck was down on the road for few days, and I've actually enjoyed it.

 

It's not about him, it's about all of you. None of you've criticized him for almost 24 hours for something pathetic like this. And I give zero f's about what you opinion is.

You seem to want to fight. Thats fine you do you. But for the rest nodding along with him, consider this. Maybe we enjoy the lifestyle. Could it be better? Sure. Do you sometimes gotta do stuff that sucks or tolerate #### conditions because your the boss? Yup absolutely. But even after all the bull ive delt with over the last 5 years i wouldnt trade the experince for anything. Coulda made more money working for someone else sure. But if i hate my job, hate my life, hate everything about what i do and just show up for a check.

What then is even the gods ###### point? Id rather do this and have the freedom i do which would be imposible to get anywhere else and get the challenges and opportunities to grow both as a person and in self reliance and general skills. Then trade it all away for a bit of comfort in exchange for office politics, people glareing over my shoulder, having to make nice with morons and the stress of having to pretend i give a crap what people who i cant stand either because of their attitude. Their words, or their snark just because customer.

I guess if that makes me and other O/Os stupid then so be it. Least im happy and if you dont like it. Not my problem. And while i can not and will not speak for the others here. I bet their feelings arent too far off.

 

Look, if I have to do it, I probably I'll do it. But this is not the case here. That was HIS choice and obviously he was wrong. Unless he's broke, and I don't believe he is. And I've been one of you for a long time. Then he calls this nonsense satisfaction...

 

Why do you assume it was his choice or that he is wrong? He never said it was a choice. Just that he delt with it and got it fixed and is happy to have AC and beer. How is that wrong or pathetic?

Hell my own A/C has been busted for almost 4 months as well. Mostly because the parts for a lonestar are bloody hard to get for some of them and once i get my mits on the blend doors i will have quite literally replaced the entire system.....no seriously, im being entirely literal here the ENTIRE system with many of the parts having been on a multi week backorder since they dont make my rig anymore.

Should i have parked it for months waiting on the parts? Should i have stayed in a hotel since august waiting for the conversion kit for said blend doors since the ones i have arent made anymore and you need the kit for the new ones to work? Maybe i should have gone to a junkyard and payed almost as much for a used blend door set as the new kit cost and hope it works?

Thats the thing here, your making assumptions. He even said in his post he had to get by a dealer with the part. Maybe he had a load(s) already contracted and didnt want to lose a customer by pauseing to fix an issue after giving his word that the load would be there. Maybe he didnt want to pay the late fees.

There are many good reasons why you would run without the AC. Besides who wouldnt feel satisfaction fixing their rig? I know i do when i acomplish a repair. Doesnt matter if its a minor or a major one. There is a special something about making a broken machine you own work again and getting tk enjoy it.

 

No, I'm not making any assumptions, he was the one saying it was for few days until the part arrived. He wouldn't lose any time. You just book a hotel for couple days, how hard is to understand it? Did you read his post?

 

You need to reread his post.

Tell me again how he waited for the part to arive again? I aint seeing that anywhere in his post, or a follow up saying he ordered it then went out. Sounds more like he was on a run. His AC failed, and it took him several days to FIND the part. Which is reasonable. Unless your saying he should have stopped as soon as his AC broke? Just....drop everything and go to a hotel?

So either you misread his post, or are trying to start a fight.

 

YES, as soon as the A/C have failed you find a hotel. He didn't mention any load issues. And even if that was the case, you still can manage it not staying in the truck when you have to take a 10 hours break.
This is NOT reasonable.

 

Do u ever shut the #### up ? @Constant Learner quit being a hater all the time. If you put as much time trying to find success as you did complaining about that it doesnt exist, you would have probably solved cancer, world hunger and poverty by last tuesday!
