I find this confusing....If I comply with line (1) of this reg. and in the course of being loaded/unloaded but not (formally) relieved by the company, I go into the sleeper to rest I'm not complying with line (4)
This is just like splitting hairs...I mean I do understand the regulation, but you can see how it can become confusing...Alot of gray areas in 395-.........

The way my company told me was that Sleeper time trumps everything. If you're in the Sleeper, you log the sleeper.
ruschracing Thanks this. -
Just wait until they fix this loophole...
They could make it so that you have to actually be sleeping 8 hours. And to find out, you have to flag your line 2 time as what you are doing. This would put me in violation every single day because i usually sleep 6 hours...ruschracing Thanks this. -
How would they acually prove you slept 8hrs they can't.
Skunk_Truck_2590 and ruschracing Thank this. -
Now how are they going to do that? Hook a monitor up to you to monitor your pulse and heartbeat? Some people don't sleep more than 5 or 6 hours. All you have to do is shut down for 10.ruschracing Thanks this.

hell latel i wake up 4 hours later with that #### IM LATE feeling, then realize what time it is and sleep another 2 hours!
Anyway, oh, they're going to question your logs if you dont take a dump every day, if you claim to sleep a full 10, etc!ruschracing Thanks this. -
LOL - that's gonna be a problem for me... I'm regular as clockwork, but it ain't daily!
And I typically sleep about 5-6 hours...phroziac and ruschracing Thank this. -
Just like it doesn't matter if you log line 1, 2 or 4. They don't know and can't prove weather you were in the truck or not unless they started installing sensor's on the truck that I'm not aware of that keep's track of when you were in the truck or not just like they don't know if you were in the sleeper or chillin' in the driver seat.
I'm still trying to figure out what this line 5 mess is. I'm guessing just something a handful of carrier's have added by company policy?ruschracing and phroziac Thank this. -
I'd tell'em it's none of their #### business or I'll just #### on their head's and tell them now I feel better because I've been holding it all week.
Nor am I going stop to grab my log book in the middle of the night and show having to relieve myself while on my 10.
phroziac and ruschracing Thank this. -
Hahaha. Eat truckstop food. It'll cleanse your colon. You'll be dumping 3 times a day, and it'll be liquid so it'll be more comfortable to pass!
As far as i know, line 5 is only used by one carrier. They're just trying to make up their own HOS rules.
hahahahahahahaha. But you took a ####, and it interrupted your sleep. Now you have to take 8 more hours off. I hope it was halfway through to, just to make you more miserable.
Imagine the log...
