I couldn't do a bear or lion hunt with dogs, even though I love hunting with dogs. Yeah, shootin em out of a tree is not for me.

Squirrels and coons though? They're why God made terriers and Blue Ticks. We'll tumble them outta the treetops

 

I’m heading up to Thompson Creek early next week— might take the turd hounds and slip over the hill on an unauthorized clandestine sneak trip— Big Daddy knows that if I go missing for a couple days it ain’t no big deal

 

A coon is the toughest, fightinest s o b on earth. I seen one with just nubs on the front beat the #### outta 2 #### good blue tick hounds one night. Then took em to the bottom of skillet ditch. ###### near drowned me with em cause I went in to save my hounds. Luckily water was only bout chest deep. He took 3 22 magnum rounds before I could get him on the bank. Probably one of the dumbest things I ever done. Since it worked out I don’t sweat it much now

I swung back through the house on my way to pick up rock and grabbed a shotgun and a few shells.

I've got a pickup scheduled for Monday in Grand Junction, with drops in Kalispell and Bonners Ferry. So my grand plan was to unload this mornin, throw my metal building kits on early, and ease up north of Challis and chase some chukar till Monday afternoon.

Well, plans went to hell when two guys decided they were gonna call in, and nobody was left to load.

So I just headed up into NW Colorado to get away from the crowds. I'm plum wore out anyways, so I'll cool my heels a bit

 

I've heard that kennel name, but don't guess I've ever seen anything from him. I'll check it out

 

I believe that I speak for @Oxbow when I say that you got the talk’n part done — could be that a road trip to see what @RGN hospitality is like
