I was'nt trying to insult you and I hope that you did'nt take it that way, accidents do happen but clearly you were careless and I just don't see where fighting this is going to help you. If its the only mark on your MVR, it should'nt really be a factor in any future employment. Save your money and chalk it up to a learning experience. Just be sure that you keep a copy of the accident report for future employers who may ask to see it.

No big deal? Isn't a careless driving ticket similar to a reckless driving ticket? If so that is a career ender.

-
Yeah I will hang on to the report although it doesn't say much about what happened.

Hey Brickman,
The plan I am talking about has no additional cost to defend you in court where as the Drivers legal plan has addition cost such as below from their website
DLP Attorneys handle your moving and non-moving violations, including "serious CDL offenses," for $100, ($250 for simple accidents not involving loss of life or limb). Other legal matters, including alleged alcohol and drug violations, can be handled by the attorneys at an 1/3 off discount; which could result in even greater savings.
Here is the link for what I am talking about

My sister does this for a living. I think this is a better service but that is just my opinion but thanks for the additional info you provided.

I have been driving OTR for 18 1/2 years and accidents happen, Don't beat yourself up for it.
There isn't anybody out here thats perfect, and sooner or later your going give some of your hard earned money away, Its the price of being out here. You did the right thing by reporting it and it sux about the cop giving you the ticket. If it was me I would just pay it and mark it up. Lesson learned. -
Most states V+T laws do not apply to parking lots.
Cop was being a jerk imho, of course this is assuming you had a good attitude when talking to her.

oh BTW, FIGHT IT, it might cost you money you dont have, but it might make you money when thinking about changing companies not to have a "careless driving" ticket on your record.

years ago when i worked at a large retail store. the police would not even respond to an accident in a private lot, much less give out tickets.
