My guess with the loss of Ag exemption loss was due to the accident last week but remember I am just assuming this.
Redtwin Thanks this. -
Wonder what happened?

They didn't say why it was being removed. As mentioned there was an accident last week, but I have no details about who was involved or if running PC was a factor. Pure speculation at this point.trimetro Thanks this.

Are they currently hiring? I heard someone saying they paused hiring

I think it is dependent on where you live. Best bet is to call recruiting as that can kind of information can change quickly.

another driver was involved in a crash that killed a 4 wheeler driver just a few hours ago, in GA and the irt driver is at fault just by looking at it , that's how obvious it is... Dot shouldn't let irt have AG exempt back

I got along fine without the Ag Exemption for the first handful of years I worked here before it became an option to use. I always made good money and was able to get plenty of miles logging dairy loads the same way other products were logged. I never experienced a dispatcher trying to use it as a way to work me around the clock or anything like that. The times I used it were by choice, and it didn’t really extend my workdays past the normal limit. It mainly just gave me some more flexibility on where I took my break or saved some time that would have otherwise came off of my 70. Looking back, the time it saved on my 70 probably wasn’t enough to amount to a hill of beans. When I look at my average miles over the years, I don’t see a spike around the time that it was implemented, and I haven’t noticed a decrease since they did away with it either.

The only time it was actually useful for me was when I did a run from Fair Oaks, IN to Dacula, GA and needed to be there same day. If I hadn't used ag exempt for the first 120 or so miles, I wouldn't have made it through Atlanta to the delivery. Otherwise, I think I only used it one other time and it just saved me hours on my 70, that's all. Nobody even suggested using it when I was dispatched on either load.
