You're further along than I am, fam. I want to start investing in mutual index funds (like the S&P 500) at the beginning of the next year. Don't know much about investing myself, but putting money into MIF was suggested by the late Philip Zimbardo.

 

Always Nextgentrucker. I only have a small area for the wife and me and there is always room for another driver. My avatar photo shows my playground equipment. I too am between Ocala and Wildwood,Fl. which there are 5 Pilots, 1 Loves, 1 Petro and 1 TA so plenty of places to visit any truck drivers and satisfy trucking thoughts.

 

I just go on YouTube and watch the most interesting video about investing that makes sense to me, but @JohnBoy is right, I'm about to be 27 in December, I gotta get going soon. I've heard a lot of people say to not rely on SS alone that's why I try to go the IRA route.

Nice man, how's retirement in Florida's going?

 

It's going great thank you. Traveling in the 5th wheel has provided my wife and I the chance to spend time together traveling that we didn't have during my 44 years in the truck. We also have been married for 46 years and enjoy visiting our military veteran children being retired allows us to do.
Being in Florida is pretty good too just for the weather if nothing else. Also being a tax friendly state helps too even though it isn't the cheapest place to live.
We are now full time at a rv resort in Summerfield, Fl. between Ocala and Wildwood and really enjoying life to the fullest.

 

Yeah, SS alone is a poor plan. Set up an automatic withdrawal every month. That way, it's done, and most times, you don't miss it.

 

@navypoppop i deliver aggregate to dirt cheap landscape supply, I’m assuming you’re close to that, keep an eye out for me. I live in Ocala as well, go by flip flop on the radio.
