You got a be careful when listening to these guys who try to blame everything on the previous administration. Duffy said that Obama changed the transportation policies to benefit non-domicile in the "early 2000s" (let that sink in)... cool story, bro. Even if you deport every foreigner you can find, the companies will still make excuses for not wanting to pay their drivers. Owner Ops will probably jump for joy at the news

All of this sounds good during the chaos however it will still take years to unfold and benefit towards freight rates for large and smaller carriers. Plus when you factor in all the issues around tariffs causing issues with freight shipments. Many Shippers & Freight brokers have been squeezing more money for themseleves but haven't a choice but to pay more because of thr ELP chaos. The light is started to shine bright at the end of the tunnel for those carriers holding on for better days. But, its still a long road ahead. I Predict by 2027 things should start to have a significant change.

Change will come into fruition by 2027... just in time for the autonomous truck rollout

You have a valid point however, believe me most of these trucks will have issues up here in the freezing north at minus 10F. I double Autonomous truck will ever be the majority of trucks on the road until they can perfectly improve that issues. Newer Trucks are already giving majority problems with all these computer sensors in them. If they were perfected you would still the older '99 Freightliners Century Class trucks rolling on the interstate blowing by everyone.
