Kind of late for replying to the original poster but I use Pinnacle PCTV HD Mini Stick (80e) to watch TV on my Mac Mini (both in Windows 7 + Leopard dual boot). It's a small (1 1/4 inch) usb stick w/antenna connected to the end and it works fairly well + can record programs to hard drive to view at a later time.

The problem with that is, she wanted something to use while the truck is rolling. A digital TV signal is hard enough to grab while the truck is sitting still. I still think the best solution is a 3g smart phone with a larger screen, like the iPhone, the Palm Pre, or the google Droid. Sprint and AT&T have live tv apps built in, and there is no data cap.

Mustard's idea is the best that's available now.

Unless you have the money to buy that dish.

sure you can tv off the internet but no matter what site you go to you will still be hitting your head against the 5g limit. so thus you have to get tv from else where. your choices with Verizon are the droid. now if you decide to tether your droid to your laptop. you do get unlimited data for your droid. but if they find out your doing this they will charge you the same fees as if you went over on your aircard. so what i have heard of people doing is only tethering when they get close to the 5gig limit on their aircards. other then that your options are satellite and an antenna doe digital tv. I do know what you are going though as my girlfriend rides with me and i been trying to find a way to get tv into the truck for her for a long time. my problem is i want it while going down the road. which isn't an issue for most people. but i drive a company truck and never know when they will change my trucks. i have had 3 trucks in the past year alone. so i need something i can mount and unmount easy with basic hand tools. that will work while going down the road. that will leave no marks or evidence that it was ever there as it is a company truck.

But for now i toss her my Moto Droid and she watches yesterdays shows on it via an app called tv.com it was free. i have only downloaded free apps on the thing cause im cheap like that. and i like to save my money to buy the best toys that will last me for forever.

Maybe you should try and go the satellite tv route. The "cube" satellite tv advertise that you can watch while moving. Most bigger pilot have the regular dish and the cube, might want to talk to them.

This is what I'm talking about:

    http://www.mobitv.com/

It's ten bucks a month, added on to your cell phone bill. All you need is a phone with a decent screen to view it on. It looks pretty awful on my Samsung Propel phone, but I've seen oy on a Palm Pre and an iPhone and it looks amazing. You can get it for the 3g iPad, which has a ten inch screen.
