Leasing is not worth it.
If you want to lease a truck then go to a dealer and lease one. That way the company you are leasing from does not control your freight.
Plus you can go anywhere with the truck. And the payments will be ALLOT less.
Also many companys pay better than Central for owner ops.
A lease OP with a company is not an owner OP, no matter what they want to call it. 98% of lease OPs will never own the truck.Richardson99 Thanks this. -
I wish I could just get one from a dealer I have tried with Diamler and since all the crap with the banks its hard to get approved. I do not know how else to get a truck of my own other than lease thanks again,

Well maybe that's a sign.. Just saying.. Don't come to central with hopes of buyin your truck.. After I finish paying 109000 on my lease.. Central wants atleast 45000 more to buy the truck.. 154000 dollars for a basic, crappily tuned, 400000 plus truck? Get outta here...
You can't haul your own freight, you can't control the loads you want.. You can't switch to a new company when miles are down... Go to jct.. If you can run.. They will run you.. People getting 5k a week over there some weeks.. Leave central alone unless you need a starter company. -
Just figured out that I transposed two numbers on my paper log that i keep so instead of getting 8.2 hrs back this morning I got 2.8 hrs back. Now I will be 50-60 miles short of my 99 tomorrow. Our luck just continues........... Look at most recent blog about this past friday to see what I am talking about.

running up against my 70 again! I have 6 hours and my 99 is 330 miles away! I guess ill be doing laundry at the petro in Rochelle, IL. I got permission to drop my trl at my 99. That was only because the planner had another load going from americold next door to my 99 to ohio. But that one WAS going to be late due to lack of hours since it delivered at 0330. At least i am finishing my week with 2622 + 500 DH miles.

Nice would love that kind of miles lol. think I got 2000 and 200 dh
-
almost had a priceless pic for you guys! If i wasnt late, I would have turned around to do a double take but i was running against my 70 hr clock. Cruising up I 65 in indiana today, glanced over into the rest area and what do I see??? A Trans Am truck turned the opposite direction in the rest area trying to turn around to face the correct direction. WTF?

I dropped my Sara Lee load today and picked up another one from that place for 917 miles with exactly 6 minutes until i hit my 70 hr mark so I am here at the petro in Rochelle, il. Next check I should have about 3100 miles on it
My load to tornado land is being repowered! and I am getting a load back to NC. I cant seem to escape SEDLOD! I get the loads out but I end up sucked back in!Last edited: May 12, 2010

mikely28, I'll have you know, that I resent the insiuations, your trying to make about my company. If you only knew the types of people they hire and the quality of most of their trainers........you would have busted your 70 from either laughing so hard or just shaking your head in disbelief.
Bet that guy was an L/O to boot!!!!
Not only am I bumping my 70, I havr exactly 00.00 hrs left till midnight. Woo hoo, I then gain a whopping 7 hrs!!!
Never had a tlr that was so hard to get moving before. Course, I've never pulled 45k + either. Bet the MPG's are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay down!!
BTW, anyone got a meat load? I dang sure got the beer!!!!
-
Hey I have 6 minutes... I can get across the street to the pilot before i go into violation! I get 7 hours at midnight also. then its back to NC again. I hate that state... my gps doesnt work there because of all the truck restrictions.
im not making any insinuations.... i was just sayin'.... Still trying to figure how he was facing the opposite direction! I dont even think Swift could have done a better job... again just sayin' Was that you in that rest stop?
I'm pretty good with heavy trls, lol My average load is about 43k + reefer unit and fuel puts me at about 45,500. Today my swap was a 30k for a 42k to NC. I dont bother scaling anymore unless its over 40k and this other driver actually asked me if I scaled with 33k...LOL Hell no i didnt scale! Im not wasting $9 on a load that I KNOW is legal, I figure 5th wheel slid almost all the way back and tandems set at 40-42 ft I should be about 11800/ 33k/33k. 43k with 3/4 fuel puts me at almost 77k and some change GVW. His 33k and a full tank comes nowhere close to me... Pulling 45k you should average about 6.2 - 6.4 depending on 5th wheel position and terrain. Alot of hills probably looking at 5.
I HAD a 43k meat load last week from National Beef. lots of ground round and top sirloins.
