Some are saying we have bottomed out and the only way is up from here whole other say things won't get better until the Fall of 2026. Regardless, with California 17k license revoked, with the ELP laws kicking in harder now, with the tarrifs on trucks and parts made outside the U.s. etc.. all will take a while to kick in but has started. Will eventually raise rates. The only problem is if the overall general population buy less because of inflation etc. With lesser consumption from consumers, it adds up economically, and fewer products are needed to be shipped out, so understanding the ratio towards rates increasing significantly will be difficult to anticipate.

 

17,000 CDLs revoked headline makes people think someone is doing something.

In reality most of those 17,000 CDLs are not being revoked, but will be renewed with dates that match the immigration papers. So don't look for any impact on freight.

 

I recall reading that the 17,000 would expire in 60 days because they were unlawfully issued.

 

Yes, sounds tough wording but the rest of the story is more telling:

Once you bring in your immigration papers a new CDL will be issued with dates matching immigration papers.

So they are clearly misleading people into thinking they are doing something, when they are clearly not.

 

17,000 is a fictitious number..

Out of a small sample of cdls that were looked at they came up with fuzzy numbers for the total.

The reason is purely politics otherwise they would be going after Texas to revoke the 300,000 cdls given to people that don’t speak English.

Many were issued to illegals and they will be deported.

 

Reefer drivers and milk tanker drivers don't have anything to worry about. Refrigerated food and medicines have to keep moving.
Plasma has to keep moving and FFE Transportation does a lot of that.
