If buying from the dealer they will be able to run your credit through their services. If you have good credit you could get your own loan through your bank or anywhere you can get a loan.

During those 7 years I hope you asked lots of questions. Hope you collected lots of phone numbers with contact info. Priced insurance, found steady work ideas. Decided what you need in a truck. What would be nice, built Á down payment. Let’s make up what I would do. Since I don’t know you, your situation I can’t set it for you. I need an auto. Leg crushed, rebuilt, knee torn out, infection… clutch is dang SLOW after not moving leg often. I was looking few miles. So older, low mileage was fine. To me risk/reward better high miles but sounds, feels good.
To APU. I am staying 100 miles from home. It has a sleeper. But daycab would have been better. *for me* decide what you need, weight issues..
There are many under 200k mile trucks at times. People rushing in before they lasted a year. But 400k seems to be best price . But $50k repairs might be any time. Took tractor in for minor oil leak. From filter base. Base is cracked. +$800 to fix with salvage parts. I figure I added 3 gallons this year. So 6 yr break even? But it likely would get worse, maybe fail without warning. Good luck. -
Probably 20% down and decent credit score and history. Interest rate will be horrendous. Try your local bank first. They might not deal with equipment financing but ask anyway. If you see a truck for sale at a dealer they will usually have some lenders they can refer you to. It's kind of a pain in the butt with a lot of hoops to jump through.

I listened to his podcast about a year ago and found it seems to have great info about starting up you're own truck. I was still newer to trucking but what I saw rang true and from my other previous ownership of small businesses those parts didn't set off any alarms. He helps breaking down ideas on managing the accounting.
Take a look. Might be beneficial.breadw1918 Thanks this.
