2661471 sensor is what I have now. My new one is 2661466. Both Peterbilt parts guy and Cat parts guy says that my new one is just an update part #. The plugs are different. Can I just pin my new sensor to my old plug? Grok says they are NOT interchangeable. They look the same minus plug.
Caterpillar TPS cross?

I don't know the answer, but it appears as if one is a 3 wire and the other 2. Do you have the engine VIN handy?

2661471 Sensor Gp Fits Caterpillar Models | eBay
this is mine. It’s a 3wire. My 2014 389 had a Cummins from the factory in 2020 I swapped a mxs Cat in it. I don’t even have a ser# for the engine.Oxbow Thanks this. -

Update: repinned and worked like a charm. Apparently, Kenworth and Peterbilt are the only trucks that use the 2661471 plug. The 2661466 is actually a highway truck centric sensor while the 2661471 is more of a heavy equipment centric sensor. Sometimes you have to argue with Grok and it will think harder

BTW the picture of the 1466 that you posted here looks nothing like my new one.Oxbow Thanks this.

Glad you got it sorted. Those were screenshots from Catparts.com. SIS kept taking me to groups for dozers and such.dirthaller Thanks this.

Also, I learned that the sensor MUST be mounted to the pedal to ground properly. You can’t use a flat head screwdriver to test it.
Oxbow Thanks this. -
Interesting.
