Get all the endorsements before graduating from CDL school. Those endorsements can mean more money.
Get the hazmat endorsement for sure. You may get a load of paint sometime, so that requires a hazmat endorsement. You won't be hauling the dangerous stuff; specialized companies and drivers haul that.

Next time you’re in a truck stop, look at the little truck stop pamphlets. Some promise “respect and family.” Who are their target demographic? Prime and Dart always have black guys on theirs and USExpress has women. If USExpress has been catering to women for the last 20 years, they should have the most female trainers. Is it important for OP to have a female trainer? Probably, because it was important to OP that we know she’s female.Gearjammin' Penguin, MACK E-6, 88228822 and 2 others Thank this.

Absolutely do not go to Amongus Transportation out of Illinois, they will scam the crap out of you. UPS, Walmart or FedEx is greatnextgentrucker Thanks this.

What are you going to do with your dog during the 1-2 month training period when you share a truck with a trainer? Few if any trucking companies allow a pet to ride along during training. Having a pet is great once you have your solo truck. I took mine with me for 3 years. BTW, after about 2 trips to the West coast you will likely hate it as much as everyone else in trucking.nextgentrucker Thanks this.

She actually did that ( for once)

Why you say that?

In the original post it wasn’t in there, that’s why I asked

I don't too much see a pattern on the ads. I've seen different demographics on the ads, and put pretty much no stock in it. Last time I checked, these companies just want ##### in seats. I guess by that logic, we should suggest CR England too. Or maybe Saia....they have "Women in Trucking" on some of their trailers. Maybe OP prefers a female trainer when the time comes, she didn't specify. With the increase of female drivers in the industry, i am sure she could ask for a female trainer regardless of where she ends up. Hopefully they can accommodate her. I put as much stock in her being a woman as I put in you being a man. I'll leave the suggesting of "gender specific" companies to you lol.nextgentrucker Thanks this.

All companies (regardless of size) are bad and as drivers we pick our poison. It's up to you to research and find what is likely to suit you.
Myself, I had no desire to team drive and I wanted good quality training so I went with Schneider who set me loose after one week on a trainer's truck. And before anyone freaks out, I have close to 4 years experience with no incidents and no tickets. I would never go into something like trucking without taking it VERY seriously...nextgentrucker Thanks this. -
If you, in your opening post said, “Hey I am a black guy looking for my first job after I graduate trucking school, where should I go?” I would respond, “CREngland.” Instantly, you would accuse me of racism. Your race, your gender, your age, your whatever…is unimportant to me. If instead you say, “Hey, I am a new driver fresh out of school, any recommendations?”, my response would be completely different. If you said, “ Hey gang, I am looking for a gay friendly company, I would respond with Weiner. Where you put a pickle is actually irrelevant, but if you make it relevant, I will too. Race, age and gender are irrelevant too. Until the OP makes them relevant.
The top 2 companies that I have seen that advertise for women drivers is
1. USExpress
2. Panther. I don’t know if Panther is a training company, so I didn’t mention them.Gearjammin' Penguin and tscottme Thank this.
