Actually Texas still has it set that trucks have to go 5mph slower than cars. Speed limit 70 day 65 night, trucks 65 day 60 night in north Texas. In south Texas it's higher but still truck speed limit is 5 mph lower. Maybe they just haven't taken the signs down yet, lol.

i too, see plenty of sheriff's deputies and Fl. troopers going 15+ over the limit and EVEN TAILGATING PEOPLE in the left lane till they moved over.
yet the same LEO's gave my wife a ticket for going 7 over! what a double standard SOME folks have.

You must not do much driving on the roads in your own state if you think the cars are not doing 80 plus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even at 70 mph the cars are still blasting past!

Man LUV I got to say....Have you ever drove I-94 to Detroit?

I run about 75 mph and Iam in the way!

These people don't know what a speed limit sign is.

I bet they are going around 90 when they pass me.

This stretch of I-94 is known as the DEATH CHAMBER due to so many accidents between Jackson/Ann Arbor to Detroit.

As a local radio host's intro used to say:
'From the city where speed limits are mere suggestions..'
And it's true! It's nothing to be flying down 696 doing 80+, and being blown away by some joker easilly doing 100 mph. Heck, I have driven that fast on 696 (at night, in my car with the road almost MT). Michigan's speed limits are a joke, depending on where you live; around here, on the freeways no one cares; until they need to make money then you'll see the cops out in full force.
Heck, I remember running from grand rapids to Detroit, following a flatbed that was doing about 85 the whole way ( I was lucky to have an un-governed truck so I could keep up) and he didn't slow down once.

The 55mph truck speed limit in Ca. generates way too much revenue, which is the reason why it doesn't go away. One Chp officer told me the best chance of getting rid of the split limits is for all trucks to obey them at all times. That way revenue enhancement would be decreased and maybe raising the limits would be considered due to the massive traffic backups this would cause.

I-696 is a bad one for speeders I can remember when I had a seven axle ( 147,000 + ) going thru there at well over 65 mph and being run over myself .

Rook,do you have recent pics of 65 and 60mph truck speed limit signs?I have traveled ALL over the state of TX. and have never seen a truck designated 65mph sign after 1999. They would be an antic,LOL. In far west Tx. trucks are limited to 70mph in the daytime and cars can now legally go 80mph during the day. Speed limit for all vehicles in all parts of Tx. at night is only 65mph. WAY too slow for me,LOL.
