New North Carolina law makes booting commercial vehicles illegalFlat Earth Trucker, TheLoadOut, bullhaulerswife and 1 other person Thank this. -
The Carolina Site truck was booted Nov. 1. The company says it was charged $6,000 to remove the boot. Ken and Leo said the tow truck driver also threatened to tow the truck and charge more than $20,000 if they tried to fight the fee.
This predatory behavior would land me in prison and yall would be posting an article on here about me. I’d do years in prison, but the tow truck driver would be eating through a straw the rest of his life.Rugerfan, Flat Earth Trucker, Sons Hero and 5 others Thank this. -
This law is a great start. The only problem is that apparently predatory towing is still legal.

A tow truck driver in Memphis was like that, doing illegal towing and booting.
One trucker refused to get out of the truck and the tow truck driver wouldn't move to let him out unless he paid $2000.00.
When the trucker still refused to get out of the truck, the tow truck driver pooped on a bag and threw it inside the truck.
The trucker didn't do anything about that either.
Finally, the police came and after arguing with the tow truck driver, he finally moved the tow truck.Flat Earth Trucker, TheLoadOut and bryan21384 Thank this. -
That one tow driver in NC was making average $20,000.00 a day by booting trucks.Flat Earth Trucker, TheLoadOut, Crude Truckin' and 1 other person Thank this.

He charged one company $39,000.00 because their driver warned other truckers on the same street. He said by warning the other drivers caused him to lose revenue.
He just didn't cross the right driver that would have him laying in the street with no teeth or private part.Flat Earth Trucker, Sons Hero, TheLoadOut and 3 others Thank this. -
I don’t know how far this goes back in time, but I don’t think these scumbag, scuzzy, bottom feeding tow truck drivers would have got away with this before the 1990s without seriously risking bodily harm.Flat Earth Trucker, Numb, TheLoadOut and 2 others Thank this.
