I read through that post back in February of this year and saw those pictures. Thats what lead me down this rabbit hole. looked through the parts diagram of what my motor originally came with and it was the 9Y4004 (378-0509) and 7W7017(0R3421). Since now I KNOW the 2 piece IPD crown I have does not match the 9Y4004 there is no way the 0R3421 nozzles I have in it are a correct match for the 2 piece IPD correct?
Truck has a 190f in it to my knowledge, I dont think its 180 cause the only time it would dip into the 180's was in the cold winters up here in Canada. but in the summer months it was 200 most the time. More recently the temps were creeping up higher, (upon disassembly we found a crack in the head #4). getting up to 215 where the override wants to shut it down. Truck did get idled quite a bit though, more than it should've in my opinion. -
Correct there is no way. I believe those pics in February also included showing the difference from top ring land up. I know what I’d do with it is go back to the 9Y-4004 but you don’t want to do that cause of “enhanced durability” so I’d change the the nozzle to an OR 3425 but that 7FB pump still has the wrong timing curve for that to really work properly you have some decisions to make……or you gonna have problems again.
